General Policies & Client Agreement


Safety, Liability & Health Disclosure

Pawtanicals LLC follows strict safety, sanitation, and humane handling protocols to protect the health and wellbeing of every pet entrusted to our care. Despite reasonable and prudent care, grooming and bathing services involve inherent risks and may result in common and expected side effects, including but not limited to:

  • Exposure of the quick during nail trimming

  • Skin or coat irritation

  • Reactions to shampoos, conditioners, flea treatments, de-shedding, or specialty services

  • Hair splinters

  • Temporarily sharp nails following trimming

By booking or receiving services, the client agrees to release, waive, defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Pawtanicals LLC, its owners, employees, contractors, agents, and any independent or guest groomers from all claims, liabilities, damages, injuries, losses, or expenses arising from services rendered, including veterinary care, behavioral issues, rehabilitative care, or post-service discomfort.

All veterinary, medical, behavioral, or rehabilitative care sought before, during, or after services is the sole responsibility of the pet owner.

Pet Health & Condition Acknowledgment

The client confirms their pet is healthy, stable, and fit for grooming or washing at the time of service.

  • Grooming or bathing elderly, senior, infirm, aggressive, or medically compromised pets is performed entirely at the owner’s risk.

  • Grooming may reveal pre-existing medical or skin conditions not visible prior to service.

  • Pawtanicals LLC is not responsible for the discovery, diagnosis, or treatment of such conditions.

  • Clients are encouraged to remain available for senior or special-needs pets.

Vaccination & Legal Compliance

Clients certify all legally required vaccinations are current:

  • Dogs: Rabies, DA2PP / DHPP

  • Cats: Rabies, FVRCP

  • Bordetella: Recommended, not required

Records must be provided at least 24 hours prior to the appointment. Failure to comply may result in refusal of service and/or applicable cancellation fees.

Emergency Medical Authorization

In the event a pet experiences a medical emergency while under the care of Pawtanicals LLC, the client authorizes Pawtanicals LLC to seek immediate veterinary attention if the client or emergency contact cannot be reached after reasonable efforts. Pawtanicals LLC is authorized to transport the pet to the nearest licensed veterinary facility or the client’s preferred veterinarian when feasible.

The client acknowledges that Pawtanicals LLC does not provide veterinary services and agrees that all veterinary expenses, including transportation and treatment, are the sole responsibility of the client. Pawtanicals LLC shall not be held liable for outcomes resulting from emergency care decisions made in good faith, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Accidental Injuries & Product Reactions

While staff are trained in best practices and gentle handling techniques, accidents may occur even with the highest level of professional care.

  • Clients will be notified as soon as reasonably possible.

  • Veterinary care may be sought per the Emergency Medical Authorization.

  • All veterinary costs remain the owner’s responsibility unless otherwise required by law.

Professional-grade and, when appropriate, hypoallergenic products are used; however, no product can be guaranteed reaction-free.

If irritation or allergic reactions occur within 24 hours, clients should seek veterinary care immediately and notify Pawtanicals LLC. Product information will be provided to veterinarians upon request.

Grooming Services – In-Shop & Guest Groomers

Services may be provided by Pawtanicals staff and/or independent grooming professionals operating within the Pawtanicals facility.

  • Independent groomers are not employees of Pawtanicals LLC.

  • Pawtanicals LLC acts solely as the facility provider.

  • Groomers perform services according to professional judgment and industry standards.

Grooming Risks & Professional Discretion

Clients acknowledge grooming involves inherent risks and authorize groomers to:

  • Modify or shave coats for safety or welfare

  • Use safety equipment when necessary

  • Discontinue services if safety concerns arise

Coat Condition, Matting & Shave Authorization

Coat condition is assessed at check-in.

  • Severe matting may require shaving as the only humane option

  • De-matting is performed only by certified groomers

  • Pawtanicals LLC is not liable for post-matting effects

By booking services, clients authorize coat modification when necessary.

Aggressive, Unsafe & Special-Handling Pets

  • Aggression or bite history must be disclosed

  • Services may be discontinued at any time

  • Charges reflect services rendered

  • A $10 Special Handling Fee applies when extended restraint is required

Pawtanicals LLC reserves the right to refuse service.

Senior & Special-Needs Pets

Senior and special-needs pets are groomed for cleanliness and comfort only.

  • Services may be modified, shortened, or discontinued

  • Immediate pickup availability is required

Fleas, Ticks & Parasites

  • Services are not performed on pets with active infestations

  • Grooming will be discontinued if parasites are discovered

  • Charges apply for time spent

Payment, Cancellations & No-Shows

  • Payment is due at time of service or in advance

  • 24-hour notice required for cancellations

  • Same-day cancellations & no-shows: 100% charge

  • Cards on file may be charged automatically

Peak periods incur an additional $10 late/no-show fee.

Appointment Confirmation Policy (Effective March 1, 2026)

  • Two automated reminders will be sent

  • Confirmation is required via the second message

  • Failure to confirm results in cancellation

Pick-Up Policy

  • 15-20 minute pickup window after notification

  • If 25 minutes over, $1/minute applies

  • Repeated late pickups may result in account termination

Skunked Dogs

Dogs sprayed by skunks must be pre-washed at home. Service may be refused. To de-skunk your dog, use a homemade solution of 1 quart 3% hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda, and 1-2 teaspoons of dish soap, applied immediately and rinsed after 5 minutes, avoiding eyes. Always wear gloves, don't store the mixture (it can explode), and be aware it might bleach dark fur. The service will be a MICRO-BUBBLE BATH (unless otherwise discussed with client).

Clients with respiratory sensitivities should take precautions. Pawtanicals LLC is not liable for TCMB-related reactions.

Media Release

Clients grant permission for photography/video use without compensation.

Agreement Acknowledgment

By booking or receiving services, the client acknowledges acceptance of all Pawtanicals LLC policies.
